SUNSET STUDENT EXCHANGE

January 4, 2010

Dear Sunset Parents:

The French students are scheduled to come to Miami and Sunset Elementary School April 7-18, 2010 (after FCAT exams). We are looking for families to welcome a 5th grade student from France during this period: April 7-18, 2010.

This is a great experience and opportunity for your child and family. The French student will follow the same daily schedule as your child.  They both will attend school every day as usual at Sunset Elementary School. The French students will have field trips organized to visit Miami and local points of interest (Everglades, Parrot Jungle etc...). Your child will be excused from school in order to participate to 2 field trips with his/her correspondent. The students will leave to the field trips from school after 8:30 a.m. and come back to school before 4 p.m. Dr. Leyte-Vidal has agreed to excuse your child for two days in order for him/her to participate and have fun in these activities. Homework will be lighter.

Your child will in return be able to spend 10 days in France in June perfecting his/her language skills, attending school, and enjoying some of the many cultural outings FIPA has organized. For your information, see attached last year’s itinerary.

To find out more about the exchange, come to Sunset Elementary School on January 12 at 6pm in the cafeteria.
